I was born in Summit, New Jersey, in a middle-class suburban. It was just this swarm of kids in the neighborhood. Everybody goes around in this big clump, a big gang.
I wore glasses from the time I was 4. I refused to wear them after 7th grade. My mother would drive to school, give them to the teacher saying: “Maker her wear these!”. But I didn’t want to wear them because I wanted to be pretty.
I have two brothers who are always younger than I am, no matter what I do. I guess I was bossy. I was, you know, bigger.
